It's late nights, like these, when I face my doubts and trials. I've had many in my Christian walk in the last few months. It has nothing to do with any situations I have in school this semester, but the start of it seems to correlate, and it scares me. Tonight, I give you some quotes that have been meditations for me these past few months (Those without an author named are words that ring in my mind with no name to them):
"In Christ alone my hope is found."
-In Christ Alone, Hymn
"If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?"
-Percy Bysshe Shelly "Ode to the West Wind"
"What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun."
-Ecclesiastes 1:9
"For eighty years I have served the Lord and He has done me no wrong. I will not blaspheme the name of the King!"
-Polycarp
"If mercy falls upon the broken and the poor,
Dear Father, I will see you, there on distant shores."
-Five Iron Frenzy "On Distant Shores"
"Your Steadfast Love"
"Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea.
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.
When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.
Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God"
-Before the Throne of God Above, Hymn
"My Lord and My God"
-John 20:28
